A well-developed grid of marked out tourist trails and bike paths, plenty of monuments, beautiful nature as well as various bikes repair and rental points encourage tourists to bicycle expeditions in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The most interesting yet the most difficult trails were marked out in the Bieszczady Mountains.
The international trail, the so called “Zielony Rower” (Greenway) wends its way through the most beautiful places of the region and consists of marked out local trails. It is as long as nearly 100 kilometres. Some of the trails can be followed only on a mountain bike, however one can follow most of the trails on a tourer. Cyclists professionally prepared to mountain expeditions can choose among very difficult bike trails for example: from Muczne to Tarnawa Niżna (21 kilometres), from Nasiczne to Bereżki (7.5 km), from Uherce Mineralne to Bóbrka (12.5 km) or form Średnia Wieś to Baligród (21 km). Among the most interesting bicycle paths and trails the “Bieszczadzka Wielka Woda” trail is definitely worth mentioning here since it wends its way through Zalew Soliński (Soliński Reservoir) allowing tourist to visit and get to know the place. Cyclists can admire a breath-taking landscape while following the trail around the Słonne Mountains Range and Żuków. Equally interesting are the trails that wend their ways through the Beskid Niski and the Pogórze (highlands) such as Przemyskie, Dynowskie and Strzyżowskie. It is worth to mention the „Między Zdrojami” – the red trail from Rymanów to Iwonicz Zdrój, the Słonne trail from “Brodoszurki” reserve through Piątkowa, Dylągowa and back to the Słonne coast (36.8 km), the trail form Przemyśl to Krzywcza and Łętownia, from Przemyśl to Krasiczyn, Korytniki and to Przełom Hołubli. One can visit the area of Przemyśl while following the fortress bike trail. The southern and central part of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship is also attractive for bike expeditions. Although the trails wend their way through flat terrain the landscape quickly changes and is far from monotonous but appealing. While following the trail cyclists can always come across some attractive historical relics, architectural monuments as well as the cultural heritage souvenirs. It is also worth mentioning that one can follow the “Gancarski szlak” (the so called “Pottery Trail”) near Rzeszów in the Czarna Commune. The trail wends its way through breath-taking and beautiful spots such as, for example, forest ponds or hills over which the view is unforgettable. On the way one can visit and admire the Zagroda Gancarska (the Pottery Homestead) in Medynia Głogowska where a number of lasting a few days pottery workshop courses are organised both for individual tourists and for an organised group of tourists. One should also consider following the trails in the area of Pilzno and Stalowa Wola as well as the trails that wend their ways through Roztocze near Horyniec- Zdrój and Narol.
